Downtown Storefront Façade Improvement Program
The City of Ontario’s Downtown Façade Improvement Program provides 50/50 matching grants of up to $25,000 to help revitalize Euclid Avenue-facing commercial properties in Downtown Ontario.
Program Objective
The City of Ontario, in its continuing effort to support the revitalization of the Historic Downtown Area, created the Downtown Façade Improvement Program for businesses within the designated program area.
The Program is intended to facilitate commercial revitalization, preserve the Historic Downtown Area, stimulate private investment, and beautify the commercial corridors by creating a pedestrian-friendly and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, visitors, and tourists.
Source of Funds
The Program is being funded by the Federal Government’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
Requirements for Applicants

Applicants may be property owners or business tenants.

Properties must be located between Emporia Street to G Street (100-200 blocks of South Euclid and 100-600 blocks of North Euclid).
- One application per façade is allowed.
Application Process
- Submit a complete online application with the following documents:
- Proof of Property Owner Consent
- Description of Proposed Improvements
- Staff Application Review
- Approved Applicants Receive Notice to Proceed Before Starting Work
- Reimbursement Provided After Project Completion with Requested Receipts, Lien Waivers, and Documentation
Funding is subject to availability, approval of application, and confirmation of receipts, waivers, and documentation, including inspection and verification of facade improvements by City Staff.
