Why Ontario?

Entertainment & Recreation

Ontario offers a variety of entertainment options for the entire family to enjoy.

Although our roots began in agriculture and industry, Ontario residents enjoy world-class shopping, dining and entertainment, as well as the city’s daily conveniences, such as the community centers, recreation facilities, parks, library and museums.

Proximity to LA

Ontario is located just 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and is close enough to drive to everything the Los Angeles area has to offer — including the coast, mountains, desert and major cultural and tourist attractions that Southern California is famous for.

Entertainment

From world-class performance to one-of-a-kind events, there is an abundance of things to see and do.

The Toyota Arena hosts over 125 events annually including concerts, family shows, and sporting competitions. This is the place to find electrifying performances from mega starts like Rod Stewart, Pat Benatar, Pink, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Banda MS, Mark Anthony, and Sade. As the entertainment icon of the Inland Empire, the Toyota Arena is home to the Ontario Reign Hockey, the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario, and the Ontario Fury Soccer. It hosts everything from Disney on Ice to Sesame Street Live! To WWE Smackdown and Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live.

Ontario Town Square is a community gathering/event space that supports the various programmed events downtown including the annual Christmas on Euclid, Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion, Independence Day Celebration, Summer Concert Series and Summer Movies in the Park.

Movie buffs can choose from the AMC Dine-In Ontario Mills 30, the Regal Edwards Ontario Palace IMAX & RPX or the Regal Edwards Ontario Mountain Village.

Those looking for some comedy can enjoy an evening at the Ontario Improv. The club’s calendar schedules comedians as often as six nights a week, alternating between big-name headliners and up-and-coming funsters who tickle funny bones with fresh material, abundant energy, and feathered reflex hammers.

Shopping

From high-end luxury items to everyday must-haves, Ontario offers a variety of premier shopping opportunities.

Ontario Mills, California's largest outlet and value retail shopping destination and is home to more than 200 stores, boasting some of the biggest names in men's, women's and children's apparel, jewelry, sporting goods, footwear and more. Community Centers and Events

Living in Ontario, California, also means enjoying a high quality of life. The City offers a variety of seasonal programs for people of all ages and annual events for the entire family at its seven community centers, including the De Anza Community & Teen Center and the Ontario Senior Center. Ontario also has an extensive system of parks and recreational facilities, such as the Ontario Soccer Park and Historic Jay Littleton Ball Park. Although it’s easy to spend most of your time outside in the Southern California sun, don’t forget to visit the City’s two libraries (the Ovitt Family Community Library and the Lewis Family Branch Library), the Ontario Museum of History & Art and the Chaffey Museum of Art.
